Conclusie

Voor zowel de meniscus in zijn geheel of de meniscus alleen lateraal of mediaal gezien is de sensitiviteit van de McMurray slecht.
Voor de sensitiviteit worden waardens gegeven die reiken tussen de 0.10 en de 0.71. Pookaranjanamorakot (2004) en Jain (2009) hadden als inclusiecriteria gesteld dat de participanten die deelnamen aan het onderzoek een voorste kruisband ruptuur moesten hebben. In het artikel van Sae-Jung (2007) staat dat iedere patiënt met een willekeurig knie letsel mee mocht doen aan de studie. De McMurray is bedoeld om de meniscus te testen, dus letsel aan andere structuren van de knie kan van invloed zijn op het zuiver testen van de meniscus. Bij de systematic review van Malanga (2003), Scholten(2001) en Jackson(2003) is van de bestudeerde artikelen, die een redelijk sensitiviteit geven, niet vermeld wat de patiëntenpopulatie was. Dit stond in de door hun gebruikte artikelen niet vermeld en bij Jackson(2003) werd hierover niks in de studie vermeld.
